Stay in your comfort zone
Do seek the uncomfortable, but once you’ve reached a sweet spot, once you’ve found what works for you, stay there for a bit. Or for as long as you need.
Think of these 4 possibilities:
There are things that you know you know. Other things that you know you don’t know. Stuff you don’t know you know. And things that you don’t know you don’t know.
Seek to understand the latter. What is it that you don’t know you don’t know?
Well, by definition, you wouldn’t know.
And the only way to get more clarity is through being open to randomness.
To new experiences.
To picking up a book on a completely random topic. Or conversing with a friend who works in an entirely different field.
And in the process, staying curious, assuming nothing, and asking a lot of questions.
Do seek the uncomfortable, but once you’ve reached a sweet spot, once you’ve found what works for you, stay there for a bit. Or for as long as you need.
